Cofona Band members at Recognition Ceremony
A special award and recognition ceremony was held in the summer of 2015 to acknowledge the academic achievements of COFONA’s Band members. Four (4) of these members were recognized for their performance on the Guyana’s Grade 6 Assessments (Common Entrance) and their end of term examinations. The two highest Grade 6 Assessment performers each received $25,000G while the two (2) best performers at the end of term exams each received $15,000G. During the occasion, members of the band were also treated to a party to close out their summer vacation. About forty (40) persons were present at the function; the others were still away on vacation. For the evening’s entertainment, the group was treated to the musical specials from members of COFONA’s string band.
